Apatite takes its name from a Greek word meaning to deceive, because miners kept mistaking it for beryl and tourmaline. It is a calcium phosphate, softer than quartz at 5 on the Mohs scale, so it wants gentle handling. The one blue apatite bracelet we carry is deep ocean blue, 8mm beads on elastic.
